Bosch Table Saw Review
Many woodworking experts agree that the Bosch table saw is the choice of both professionals and serious DIY fans while the price tag puts it out of the range of the beginner.
The latest table saws from Bosch - the 4100 series - are considered the best ever made by the company. The guard system has been greatly improved and thanks to a new blade kick back is negligable. The top of the range 4100DG-09 even comes with a digital rip fence for the most accurate cut on the market today.
Folks lucky enough to own one of the 4100 series praise the easy blade change system, dust control, onboard storage and the table saws accuracy. One of its best liked features is the wheeled gravity rise stand that snaps open or folds flat in a single motion operated by a single lever.
The innovative Gravity-Rise Stand uses patented technology to make setup and take down of this table saw the quickest ever. And it makes it extremely portable: the large pneumatic wheels can handle any type of terrain with ease. The collapsible design also minimizes storage space requirements, so it takes minimal space in the garage when storing or the pickup when off to the job.
The Numbers
The 15 Amp, 10-inch Bosch table saw generates a maximum 4 HP and 3,650 RPM for exceptionally clean cuts. Also, the saw features soft-start and Constant Response electronics for unbelievable power management and constant speed under load. It features a 5/8-inch arbor size for use with compatible blades and will make bevel cuts between -2 and 47 degrees in addition to dado cuts up to 13/16 inch. An optional, unique easy-to-read digital measuring display (DC010, not included) can be attached to the fence to take measurements for cuts within 1/32 of an inch.
Safety
The Bosch Smart Guard System is a completely tool free design that provides unparalleled visibility and enhanced user protection so you can see the cuts better while avoiding blade contact or the dreaded kickback. The 3 piece safety system includes riving knife, blade guard and anti-kickback pawls, all which install within seconds and require no tools.
Summary
The 4100 series is a top of the range saw table with a price a price tag ranging from $600 to the 4100-09 Worksite which comes in at around $1200 and as such is not really suitable for anyone who isn't a serious DIY'er or of course, a professional.
